What You’ll Do
The Territory Manager maximizes sales revenue by working through and with distributors, dealers, and other partners within the assigned territory. This role involves working alongside distributors and staff to carry out all the activities required to achieve set targets. The role monitors stock levels both at distributor level and in the trade, identifies gaps in the distribution chain, and communicates these to management for action. The Territory Manager is also responsible for generating revenue through direct sales and promoting Vodacom products via face-to-face engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the achievement of agreed sales and revenue targets through distributors, dealers, and other partners that resell Vodacom’s products and services within the assigned territory.
- Implement sales and distribution activities in the territory.
- Coordinate the distribution of Vodacom products to ensure continuous availability.
- Manage the distribution of branding and promotional materials to enhance visibility and build consumer and dealer loyalty.
- Identify trade promotion requirements and recommend appropriate actions.
- Implement and support promotional activities in the territory.
- Monitor competitor activity within the region and provide actionable reports.
- Support distribution partners by developing action plans aligned with set targets.
- Work alongside dealer staff as part of the coaching and monitoring process.
- Train distribution partners on Vodacom’s products and services.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of retail execution and distributor operating standards within the designated territory (including availability standards, stocking, pricing, and point-of-sale standards).
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on sales trends in the territory.
- Generate weekly dealer performance and market intelligence reports.
Qualification, Experience, Competencies, and Knowledge
- University Degree or equivalent training in Business or Sales Management.
- Ability to work under high stress with short-term targets and objectives.
- High level of integrity and strong work ethics.
- Strong presentation skills and computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Performance-driven with business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning and stakeholder management abilities.
- Clean Driving License.
- Good knowledge of Vodacom’s product/service offering and pricing practices.
