Airtel Tanzania Limited, one of the leading mobile network operators in Tanzania, is seeking a qualified and experienced Usage & Retention Manager. This role focuses on driving customer acquisition, retention, and business intelligence for Airtel Money services to support the company’s strategic growth objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage Airtel Money (AM) customer lifecycle management (CLM), focusing on new customer acquisition and retention.
- Drive customer adoption of Airtel Money from new and inactive user bases.
- Identify and analyze industry and geographic trends affecting business strategy; update management regularly on market and competitor activities and products.
- Develop and oversee Airtel Money planning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
- Design, maintain, and update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and reporting systems related to Airtel Money.
- Collect and synthesize business intelligence data from industry reports, field reports, public sources, and purchased data.
- Provide historical, current, and predictive business performance analysis to support decision-making.
- Monitor competitor market strategies, product trends, and market share to provide actionable insights.
- Establish analytics capabilities to proactively identify business opportunities leveraging data.
- Prepare and present reports for executive management, including quarterly reports for the Airtel Tanzania board and monthly reports for group business reviews.
- Analyze weekly Airtel Money key performance indicators (KPIs) and explain business trends.
- Generate reports summarizing business, financial, and economic data for various stakeholders.
- Support commercial teams by providing visibility on business performance across various products and customer segments.
- Manage Airtel Money promotional campaign tracking, customer acquisition initiatives, and customer profiling.
- Conduct data mining, extraction, and reporting to ensure accurate and timely business intelligence.
- Work with data and product owners to validate data accuracy and maintain data integrity.
- Manage stakeholder communication and prepare monthly performance presentations for Sales and Distribution teams.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; MBA is required.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience with service reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle Discoverer.
- At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in software development, systems administration, and IT support using technologies like .NET, Java, Delphi, etc.
- Strong knowledge of telecom pricing and planning; Mobile Money experience is highly preferred.
- Expertise in data analytics and presentation.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ownership mindset and ability to follow through on assignments.
- Capacity to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
- High integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to build relationships and negotiate priorities within a matrix organizational structure.
- Skills in risk analysis, business requirements documentation, and business process formulation.
- Quick learner with strong product knowledge and understanding of the product lifecycle.
