Role Summary
The PHE Teacher Assistant supports lead PHE teachers by delivering instructional and practical support in both swimming and non-swimming physical education classes. This role includes assisting with lesson planning, co-teaching, classroom management, student engagement, and safety supervision in aquatic and land-based physical activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching or assisting in Physical Education, including swimming instruction
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
- Recognized swimming instruction certification (e.g., ASA, Red Cross) and valid First Aid/CPR with water safety emphasis
- Experience with co-teaching and knowledge of IB Middle Years Programme or Diploma Programme is an added advantage

- Assist lead PHE teachers in delivering engaging physical education lessons
- Reinforce learning objectives and support diverse student needs
- Prepare materials and set up equipment for activities
- Supervise students in classrooms, swimming areas, and during transitions
- Assist in planning, observation, and documenting student progress
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Serve as Advisor in Extended Homeroom, when required
- Carry out any other responsibilities as delegated by the Secondary Vice Principal
