The Marine Parks and Reserves Unit (MPRU) of Tanzania, established under the Marine Parks and Reserves Act No. 29 of 1994, is inviting applications for six (6) new job vacancies for the position of Marine Conservation Warden II. MPRU is headquartered in Upanga West, Ilala District, Dar es Salaam Region, and operates under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, with a mission to conserve marine biodiversity and promote sustainable resource use.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in data collection and processing for research and monitoring activities in Marine Parks and Reserves
- Assist in preparing and implementing awareness programs for communities and stakeholders
- Develop and support implementation of marine resource protection programs
- Contribute to the formulation of research agendas for Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)
- Assist in strategy formulation for MPA operations
- Participate in licensing, regulation enforcement, and prosecution related to MPAs
- Contribute to the development of MPA management and action plans
- Assist in budget preparation for the conservation section
- Perform other official duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields from a recognized institution:
- Marine Science
- Aquaculture
- Aquatic Science
- Environmental Science
- Natural Resource Management
- Marine Biology
- Zoology/Botany
- Wildlife Management
Remuneration
Salary Scale: PGSS 6
