The Marine Parks and Reserves Unit (MPRU) is inviting applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill eight (8) positions for Park Ranger II roles in June 2025. MPRU, established under the Marine Parks and Reserves Act No. 29 of 1994, is a key institution responsible for the conservation and management of marine biodiversity in Tanzania. Its headquarters are located in Upanga West, Ilala District, Dar es Salaam Region.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in patrol activities within Marine Protected Areas (MPA)
- Assist in liaising with local communities on enforcement and patrol logistics
- Maintain equipment and facilities used for patrols and conservation activities
- Arrest law offenders and provide evidence in court
- Provide visitor services such as guiding, interpretation, and rescue when required
- Clear and maintain nature trails and historic ruins in MPAs
- Prepare and submit patrol reports
- Perform any other official duties as assigned by a supervisor
Qualification and Experience
Must have completed Form IV or Form VIMust possess a Certificate (NTA Level 5) in one of the following fields:
- Aquaculture
- Fisheries
- Wildlife
- Fish Processing
- Environmental and Coastal Resource Management
- Marine Science
- Natural Resource Management
- The certificate must be from a recognized institution
Remuneration
Salary Scale: PGSS 2
