About the Role
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, you will manage and lead the implementation of monitoring strategies and systems, ensuring alignment with WFP corporate standards. You’ll play a vital role in generating high-quality data and evidence to support strategic decisions, policy development, and program implementation across Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation of the WFP Tanzania Monitoring Strategy and annual plan
- Manage and guide all monitoring and data collection activities
- Lead internal training and mentoring for field and CO-level monitoring teams
- Ensure compliance with WFP’s minimum monitoring requirements (MMR) and SOPs
- Contribute to evidence-based programming by producing timely and insightful monitoring reports
- Coordinate with external partners, including UN agencies and government stakeholders, on monitoring frameworks
- Supervise Monitoring staff across various WFP offices in Tanzania
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related fields.
- A first-level degree with relevant experience may be accepted.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Monitoring & Evaluation
- Proven experience managing teams and working in humanitarian or development contexts
- Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data tools
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with WFP platforms like COMET, MoDA, and Survey Designer
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
