About the Role

As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, you will manage and lead the implementation of monitoring strategies and systems, ensuring alignment with WFP corporate standards. You’ll play a vital role in generating high-quality data and evidence to support strategic decisions, policy development, and program implementation across Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation of the WFP Tanzania Monitoring Strategy and annual plan
  • Manage and guide all monitoring and data collection activities
  • Lead internal training and mentoring for field and CO-level monitoring teams
  • Ensure compliance with WFP’s minimum monitoring requirements (MMR) and SOPs
  • Contribute to evidence-based programming by producing timely and insightful monitoring reports
  • Coordinate with external partners, including UN agencies and government stakeholders, on monitoring frameworks
  • Supervise Monitoring staff across various WFP offices in Tanzania

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related fields.
  • A first-level degree with relevant experience may be accepted.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Proven experience managing teams and working in humanitarian or development contexts
  • Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data tools

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with WFP platforms like COMET, MoDA, and Survey Designer
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
