Job Overview
Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Process Operator in the Manufacturing Department at the Dar es Salaam plant. The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader Packaging to ensure smooth and efficient process operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operating and Process Control
- Operate process area in line with work instructions and usage standards.
- Perform quality checks according to quality control procedures and document results.
- Record waste data, review trends, and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor process performance and complete short interval control documentation.
- Respond quickly to process stoppages and apply problem-solving techniques.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness using 5S principles and ensure safe work practices.
- Assist in flavor and size changeovers following instructions.
- Support team members in task execution.
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
- Perform deep cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of machines per schedule.
- Conduct autonomous and breakdown maintenance activities as required.
- Support maintenance personnel during shifts.
Quality Control and Analysis
- Carry out quality control tests and calibrate equipment as per guidelines.
- Record quality data and perform trend analysis to identify problems.
- Apply corrective actions or escalate issues to the Team Leader.
Communication
- Actively participate in shift meetings and communicate issues or improvement ideas.
- Use communication tools such as shift handover books effectively.
- Understand and contribute to team goals and performance reviews.
Problem Solving
- Use problem-solving methods such as 5 Why and One Point Lessons (OPLs) to address issues.
- Collaborate with team members or escalate unresolved problems to leadership.
- Verify that solutions have successfully resolved issues.
Continuous Improvement
- Use control charts and trend analysis to identify waste and variation.
- Record and evaluate improvement opportunities with the team and specialists.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably FMCG.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity and ability to work in a team environment.
