Purpose of the Role
The key purpose of this role is to count, check, verify, dispatch, and receive loads by physically checking/verifying stock loaded or offloaded. The Checker will process and reconcile all digital or manual invoices, process POS payments, maintain stock master data, and actively participate in operations safety, inventory management, and control routines.
Key Responsibilities
Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards
- Maintain 5S and site housekeeping standards
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment as per site safety guidelines
- Comply with all safety and environmental policies
- Report and address non-conformities using designated platforms
Effective Stock Quality Management
- Ensure stock rotation (FEFO – First Expiry First Out) principles are applied
- Maintain warehouse stock age standards
- Conduct quality checks on packaging on the warehouse floor and prior to loading
- Perform accurate daily stock counts using a handheld device
- Generate variance reports and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate clearly with inventory and warehouse teams
Loading and Unloading Operations
- Maintain communication with commercial, credit, inventory, and logistics teams regarding load execution
- Verify and complete all documentation accurately
- Ensure load plans are reviewed and signed by required stakeholders (Picker, Operator, Driver, Security)
- Process internal stock movements in ERP (transfers, breakages, issues)
- Perform actual counts on trucks and record returns accurately
- Participate in stock deviation investigations and propose improvement actions
Reports and Data Handling
- Update beer age and FIFO/FEFO compliance tracker
- Monitor and report on Digital Journey and stock master usage
- Track full pallet check reports and update BIT/refusals daily
- Ensure POS reports are accurate and up to date
Required Competencies
- Computer literacy (digital stock count device knowledge is a plus)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Sound numerical skills
- Self-discipline and adaptability

Minimum Qualifications
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV/VI) or equivalent
- Valid forklift driver’s license
- Experience operating a double handler is an added advantage
