Objective of the Assignment
The consultant will play a pivotal role in mainstreaming biodiversity into the national PPP framework and facilitating the implementation of biodiversity-friendly PPP investment models, especially in protected areas in Zanzibar. This assignment supports national and international goals related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing PPP policies and identify entry points for integrating biodiversity
- Provide technical support to mainstream biodiversity in relevant PPP frameworks
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations and capacity-building activities
- Develop implementation roadmaps for biodiversity-integrated PPP investments in Zanzibar PAs
- Deliver expert reports and recommendations to UNDP and national authorities
