ITS Vice Presidency Context
The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency enables the World Bank Group (WBG) to achieve its mission by delivering transformative IT solutions. ITS operates in 150+ locations and is committed to innovation, client satisfaction, digital transformation, and strong cybersecurity.
Position Summary
The Senior IT Assistant will provide end-to-end IT support to World Bank Group staff in Dar es Salaam. This includes desktop support, conferencing, network maintenance, IT training, vendor management, and enforcing WBG IT standards. The role reports to the Regional IT Team Coach for Southern Africa.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance as the first and second point of contact for IT issues.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software problems.
- Configure and maintain end-user hardware and software environments.
- Support conferencing systems, remote access, and local networks.
- Track and escalate trending issues and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
- Deliver IT training sessions and assist with adoption of WBG tools and platforms.
- Support facilities work and manage vendor relations and SLAs.
- Administer information security standards and enforce IT compliance.
- Evaluate and test new IT products and services.
- Stay current with technology trends and institutional needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation, Scrum, Azure DevOps, Power BI/Power Apps/Power Automate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, M365, Windows OS, Active Directory, DNS, and server environments.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow.
- Demonstrated skills in Power BI dashboards and workflow automation using Power Apps/Automate.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, remote support, and videoconferencing systems.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to train users and support digital adoption efforts.
- Familiarity with World Bank operations and support processes is an advantage.
