CRDB Bank is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Manager for Financial Institutions and Offshore Clients to join its team at the Head Office in Tanzania. The role is critical in developing and managing relationships with both local and international financial institutions (FI) while ensuring alignment with the bank’s Treasury and Corporate strategy to maximize revenue and maintain robust risk control standards.
Job Purpose
The Manager will originate business opportunities and oversee CRDB’s relationship with financial institutions both in Tanzania and abroad. This includes supporting cross-border banking relationships, ensuring client compliance, overseeing product delivery (such as Trade Finance, Cash Management, and Financial Markets), and maintaining risk and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with FI clients both locally and overseas.
- Maximize global business flows and revenue from FI clients in line with CRDB’s strategy.
- Identify and secure new business from target FI clients across all bank products.
Risk and Compliance
- Act as the first line of defense in credit risk management for all assigned FI clients.
- Monitor compliance with financial covenants and AML/KYC requirements.
- Maintain accurate client databases and risk assessment documentation.
Operational and Strategic Responsibilities
- Review and process FI client credit applications and annual reviews.
- Ensure consistent product delivery in collaboration with Treasury and Corporate Banking teams.
- Provide strategic market intelligence and contribute to the formulation of client strategies.
Talent & Performance Management
- Lead, manage, and motivate the Treasury Sales & FI Team.
- Implement training and succession plans.
- Promote performance-based rewards and develop internal talent.
Governance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and required certifications.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive client information.
- Maintain a high standard of conduct and integrity as per CRDB’s and regulators’ codes of conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Finance or a related field (Professional qualification preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking, preferably in Treasury or Financial Markets.
- Strong understanding of Financial Markets and Treasury products.
- Experience in product management, project management, and client relationship management.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks including AML and CTF.
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team.
