The National Land Use Planning Commission (NLUPC) is a statutory Body Corporate established under Act No. 3 of 1984, later repealed and re-established by the Land Use Planning Act, Cap 116. NLUPC is tasked with facilitating efficient planning and orderly management of land uses throughout Tanzania.
Job Title: Research Officer II – 1 Post

Job Summary: The Research Officer II will support data collection, research analysis, and reporting activities aimed at enhancing land use planning strategies. This role involves working under moderate supervision and contributing to research project management and consultancy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform data collection, analysis, and gather relevant literature
- Undertake specific research activities with limited supervision from senior researchers or team leader
- Prepare and submit manuscripts for peer review processes
- Train and supervise research technicians
- Prepare research progress reports in line with work plans
- Assist in planning and managing specific research projects
- Help prepare fundable research proposals and consultancy documents
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Rural Development Planning, Natural Resource Management, or related fields
- Must have attained at least an upper second-class degree at the Bachelor level from a recognized higher learning institution
Remuneration
Salary Scale: PRSS 2
