Position: Process Engineer / CCR Operator
Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a qualified and experienced Process Engineer/CCR Operator to monitor and control various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR). This position plays a vital role in ensuring precision and adherence to operational standards in the cement manufacturing process.
Job Summary
The Process Engineer/CCR Operator will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the production process, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety and environmental standards. The role involves close coordination with patrollers and shift teams to maintain stable plant operations and meet production targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor various sections of the production line from the CCR
- Ensure adherence to operational standards and cement process precision
- Provide instructions to patrollers and field operators based on real-time monitoring and liaise with shift coordinators
- Control plant process lines to maintain equipment stability, safety, and environmental compliance
- Log process data at specified intervals and report operational activities
- Ensure the crusher, raw mills, kiln, and cement mills operate smoothly by giving real-time feedback and instructions
- Notify field teams of equipment failures, potential risks, or anomalies and guide resolution
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues in collaboration with engineers and section heads or independently as required
- Continuously assess the plant automation system and suggest improvements
- Prepare and submit detailed reports of activities and observations
- Supervise casual staff to keep conveyor belts clean and unjammed
- Ensure production targets for clinker and cement are met per shift
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Section Head or HOD
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the cement or manufacturing industry
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Solid understanding of the cement production process
- Strong knowledge of quality parameters and control procedures
- Familiarity with crushing operations and related equipment
- Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and team coordination capabilities
- Ability to lead and supervise field teams
- High attention to detail and reporting accuracy
