Role Summary
PATH is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor for the US Government-funded REACH Malaria contract. The role provides senior technical leadership and implementation support to accelerate comprehensive delivery of malaria prevention and treatment services at community and facility levels. This includes case management, malaria prevention in pregnancy, seasonal chemoprevention, data use, and related malaria interventions.
The Senior Technical Advisor will provide expert guidance, support country teams, manage project activities, and ensure alignment with national and global malaria control strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, management, and monitoring of project implementation activities in line with national malaria control guidelines and global best practices.
- Provide high-quality technical support to project countries across all malaria intervention areas.
- Manage introduction and scale-up of innovative malaria control interventions.
- Support development of detailed work plans and performance indicators for the project and partner countries.
- Identify, document, and disseminate best practices in malaria diagnosis, case management, prevention in pregnancy, and chemoprevention.
- Strengthen malaria service delivery platforms, including antenatal care, community health, immunization, and nutrition.
- Identify short-term technical assistance needs and coordinate recruitment of consultants.
- Foster strong relationships with local and regional partners to support capacity building.
- Mentor project teams across geographies and support broader PATH Malaria portfolio activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Medical Sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years of senior technical leadership experience in malaria control or related programs, preferably with National Malaria Control Programs in Africa or Asia.
- Recognized international expertise in malaria diagnosis, case management, prevention in pregnancy, and chemoprevention.
- Proven ability to work with senior health ministry officials, international organizations, donors, and civil society partners.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Full professional proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Proficiency in French and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
- Experience in maternal and child health program leadership is a plus.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 25%.

- Competitive salary range in the US: $160,000 - $200,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
