Purpose of the Role
The Finance and Admin Manager (FAM) is responsible for managing the finance and administration functions of the World Renew Tanzania Office. The role ensures proper financial reporting, compliance with internal and external policies, and contributes to organizational planning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Prepare budget and cash flow forecasts for submission to the World Renew Home Office
- Ensure effective performance of finance and admin staff in the Tanzania office
- Reconcile invoices, expenditures, and project accounts, ensuring documentation and approval before processing
- Monitor and manage the country office budget, providing variance updates to the Country Director
- Conduct monthly and periodic bank reconciliations and produce accurate financial reports
- Prepare necessary journal vouchers per World Renew financial policy
- Oversee internal auditing and verify the accuracy of financial tasks performed by staff
- Support local partners with capacity building in financial systems and audits
- Coordinate regular audits with program staff and maintain accountability practices
- Update financial policies in consultation with the Country Director and manage audit processes
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all World Renew Tanzania assets
General Administration
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian laws and regulations
- Review and update administrative policies with the Country Director
- Ensure adherence to the organization’s administration manual
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of assets and ensure proper safeguarding
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Supervisory Role
This position supervises the Finance and Administration team in Tanzania.
Required Qualifications
- Christian motivation and active engagement in a Christian faith community
- Strong integrity, credibility, and commitment to equity and gender equality
- Knowledge and experience with accounting software such as SAGE 50, QuickBooks, or Excel-based systems
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proactive, flexible, and resilient work ethic
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance and administration leadership role
- Familiarity with NGO or faith-based donor financial reporting is desirable
- Proficiency in both English and Swahili is required
