Mkombozi Commercial Bank is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Head of Operations. This is a senior leadership role that will be responsible for overseeing the bank's operational functions and ensuring efficient service delivery across all branches and digital platforms.
Job Overview
The Head of Operations is tasked with leading and managing day-to-day operational activities within the bank. The role ensures compliance, enhances customer satisfaction, and aligns operational efficiency with the strategic goals of the bank. It requires strong leadership, banking expertise, and a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the bank’s operations department, including branch support, clearing, payments, and loan administration.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and customer service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including BOT, FIU, AML, and other banking standards.
- Monitor and mitigate operational risks while ensuring system integrity and business continuity.
- Collaborate with other departments to support new product implementation and operational readiness.
- Lead performance reviews, staff training, and capacity building within the operations team.
- Maintain high standards in documentation, audit, and reporting for internal and external use.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the banking industry.
- At least 3 years in a senior operations management position.
- Hands-on experience in branch operations, clearing and settlement, payments, or customer service.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards in Tanzania.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
