We are currently recruiting for a competent, dynamic, and self-motivated Accounts Officer – Payroll to join our finance team at the Country Head Office in Dar es Salaam.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process all payroll transactions efficiently and update the Nolan payroll system accordingly.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter payroll data into the HRMS system to maintain accurate payroll information.
  • Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and generate reports.
  • Calculate payroll liabilities including employee wages, social security contributions, unemployment, workers compensation payments, and upload these correctly to government systems.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies arising from field offices and the Country Head Office; act as a key contact for payroll queries.
  • Update payroll rates and thresholds in line with changes to the Income Tax Act and other regulations.
  • Ensure payroll operations comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with month-end payroll reconciliations and variance reporting.
  • Maintain accurate data, including onboarding new employees, processing departures, and updating records in payroll systems.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Promote and implement safeguarding policies to ensure a safe working environment free from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
  • Serve as a resource for safeguarding guidance and ensure adherence to safeguarding standards by team members.
  • Follow and encourage the safeguarding reporting procedures whenever incidents occur.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll or related financial roles.
  3. Certified professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA is mandatory.
  4. Experience in financial institutions and knowledge of labor laws is an advantage.
  5. Proficiency with payroll software.
  6. Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  8. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  9. High reliability, integrity, and honesty.
