Hand in Hand Eastern Africa – Tanzania (HIHEA TZ) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in Tanzania since 2018 and is part of the Hand in Hand Global Network. HIHEA TZ operates across six regions including Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, and Simiyu, focusing on poverty alleviation and social empowerment, especially among women. The organization promotes a self-help approach by providing training, skills, and support to enable people living in poverty to build sustainable, market-based livelihoods.
Job Description
The Business Relationship Trainee will be responsible for implementing program activities in designated communities, in line with HIHEA’s policies and procedures. The role involves direct fieldwork, group mobilization, training facilitation, and monitoring of community-based enterprises.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote awareness of HIHEA TZ’s activities in assigned areas
- Identify, recruit, and mobilize community groups in compliance with operational policies
- Facilitate group formation, management, and sustainability
- Attend and organize group meetings to ensure cohesion and progress
- Compile and submit timely reports (daily, monthly, semi-annual, annual)
- Collaborate with government agencies and local NGOs to support program beneficiaries
- Represent HIHEA in local forums and development committees when nominated
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities and implement findings
- Foster strong working relationships with local communities and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with implementation standards, documentation, and recordkeeping
- Maintain assigned equipment, including motorcycles, in working condition
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Job Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Community Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, Microfinance, Agribusiness, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community-based development or social enterprise work
- Understanding of rural development and financial inclusion practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage marginalized communities
- Positive attitude, integrity, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Computer literacy, especially in MS Office applications, is an added advantage
- Effective communication skills in both Kiswahili and English
- Willingness to be assigned anywhere in Tanzania
- Licensed and experienced motorcycle riders are strongly encouraged to apply
