Introduction

Mkombozi Commercial Bank PLC (MKCB) is a leading commercial bank in Tanzania, established in 2009. It serves medium-sized and large businesses, institutional investors, financial institutions, and government entities. MKCB was listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) in 2014 and remains committed to sustainable and socially responsible financial services.

The bank seeks to recruit two (2) Non-Executive Board Members with expertise in banking and financial services to support its growth and governance. The names of shortlisted candidates will be forwarded to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for voting.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the bank’s vision, mission, and strategic direction to ensure sustainable growth.
• Appoint, support, and assess the Senior Management team, including the Managing Director.
• Oversee the bank’s financial performance, budgeting, and risk management strategies.
• Ensure MKCB complies with banking laws, regulations, and governance best practices.
• Provide insights on technological advancements and digital banking innovations.
• Represent shareholder and stakeholder interests while safeguarding the bank’s reputation.
• Participate in board meetings, strategic planning, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications & Experience

✔ Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in financial services, with at least 5 years in banking.
✔ Expertise in business management, finance, accounting, economics, fintech, ICT, actuarial science, HR, or engineering.
✔ Proven integrity, ethical leadership, and a clean credit record.
✔ Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications (CPA(T) or ACCA) are an added advantage.
✔ Board-level experience in a listed company is a plus.
✔ Age range: 40 – 65 years.
✔ Strong networking and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
