Exim Bank Tanzania is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Product Manager – Assets & Liabilities to lead the development, enhancement, and performance of retail banking products. This role plays a critical part in revenue assurance, product innovation, and aligning offerings with customer needs and market dynamics.
Job Description
The Product Manager – Assets & Liabilities will manage the full product lifecycle from conceptualization to implementation, working cross-functionally with departments such as digital, agency banking, and bancassurance. The key focus areas include product design, pricing, customer insights, performance analysis, and process improvements to ensure sustainable revenue growth and enhanced customer experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the development and enhancement of banking products and services by conducting market research and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Oversee the full product lifecycle ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and strategic alignment
- Analyze product performance using KPIs and customer data to optimize offerings
- Understand customer needs and preferences to design relevant financial solutions
- Develop and implement product pricing strategies to drive adoption and revenue
- Prepare reports and presentations on product performance and market trends
- Meet income targets by implementing pricing strategies for retail products
- Review and recommend customer segmentation models to target profitable segments
- Identify and introduce innovative product solutions based on market insights
- Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and trends
- Collaborate with sales, cluster managers, and proposition heads for input on sales strategies
- Support analysis and problem resolution for new and existing product processes
- Review income reports and provide updates to the Head of Product & Revenue Assurance
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure training is delivered as scheduled
- Conduct revenue assurance activities and automate manual fees to prevent leakages
- Contribute to the planning and execution of product-specific sales campaigns
- Maintain ownership of all product-related performance and analytical reporting
- Coordinate with internal departments (IT, Ops, Marketing, Sales, Product Dev) to support product development and rollout
- Lead communication and training for product launches and changes
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in product management within the banking or financial services industry
- Strong understanding of retail banking products, customer behavior, and market trends
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in pricing strategies and revenue assurance
- High-level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives
