The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading humanitarian NGO founded in 1956, operating in over 40 countries. Since 2015, DRC has supported refugees and host communities in Tanzania through integrated programs in Camp Management, Protection, Shelter, Infrastructure, and Economic Recovery. DRC is currently seeking a qualified Grants Management Specialist to strengthen its program delivery and donor compliance in the Kigoma Region.

Role Overview
The Grants Management Specialist will work closely with the Business Development and Quality Manager and the Head of Program. The role is responsible for ensuring the full grant management cycle is followed, high-quality reports are produced, donor regulations are met, and strategic partnerships are developed. This includes proposal writing, compliance assurance, partnership tracking, and building internal capacity on donor reporting and requirements.
Responsibilities
Grants Management & Reporting
- Coordinate and finalize high-quality, timely donor and partner reports
- Support proposal development including concept notes and full proposals
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements across all portfolios
- Update and utilize DRC Dynamics for grant tracking
- Draft strategic communications and success stories
- Lead reporting and messaging on program progress and achievements
Partnerships
- Act as focal point during partner vetting and project lifecycle
- Support strategic partner mapping and relationship management
- Maintain updated partnership tracking databases
- Provide guidance and monitor compliance throughout the partnership process
- Support partners in proposal writing and program implementation
- Ensure all commitments in partnership agreements are met and reported
Capacity Development
- Deliver internal training on grants management, donor compliance, proposal writing, and reporting
- Streamline and share grants tools and resources with staff
- Promote best practices in project cycle management and compliance
Other Duties
- Document and disseminate key program successes
- Develop sector profiles and impact reports to improve visibility
- Raise compliance concerns and ensure alignment with DRC standards
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Grants Manager
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in grants management with an international NGO
- Proven knowledge of donor rules, including US, EU, and UN funding mechanisms
- Experience in staff and partner capacity-building
- University degree in International Relations, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Fluency in written and spoken English (Swahili knowledge preferred)
- Strong communication, compliance, and coordination skills
