We are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Credit Risk Manager, Retail Banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing credit risk related to personal banking and micro-lending portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal credit standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set and enforce credit parameters specific to personal, microcredit, and micro-finance loans.
- Lead credit assessments of new employer/scheme agreements and changes to product features, presenting risk evaluations to the Credit Committee.
- Approve or decline credit applications within delegated limits; escalate higher exposure cases with clear recommendations.
- Ensure all loan appraisals for salaried products follow bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Validate system entries for accurate loan details and ensure proper loan administration.
- Review and recommend write-offs, loan restructures, or remedial actions where necessary.
- Monitor personal and micro-credit portfolios to ensure timely payments and detect early signs of risk deterioration.
- Reconcile payroll files and ensure correct data is uploaded into the banking system.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and loan upload summaries.
- Review disbursed loan accounts against set product conditions to identify deviations.
- Track loans with longer tenors, irregular rates, or amounts for compliance with terms and risk exposure limits.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field; Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of experience in credit risk, portfolio management, loan analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
