The Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC), established in December 2005, is a national umbrella organization uniting women and youth entrepreneurs across Tanzania. With over 20,000 members and outreach to more than 1 million women in all economic sectors, TWCC operates through 27 Regional Chapters, 14 Sectoral Women Associations, and 11 Platforms supporting women in cross-border trade. TWCC’s mission is to promote business formalization, capacity building, and economic empowerment through policy advocacy, mentorship, and public-private collaboration.

Job Title: Membership and Community Outreach Manager (1 Position)

Reports to: Executive Director
Expected Start Date: July 2025

Role Summary

The Membership and Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading TWCC’s membership growth, engagement strategies, and community outreach programs. This position ensures that the organization delivers high-value services to its members while expanding TWCC’s reach and visibility across Tanzania. The role involves strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, and supervision of membership officers nationwide.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee comprehensive strategies for membership recruitment, engagement, and retention
  • Analyze membership data and trends to improve satisfaction and retention
  • Develop KPIs to monitor program effectiveness
  • Align membership and outreach programs with TWCC’s strategic goals
  • Establish strategic partnerships to enhance visibility and member access to opportunities
  • Lead community outreach campaigns and foster stakeholder participation
  • Supervise Membership Officers and ensure quality service delivery
  • Monitor regional performance and recommend strategic improvements
  • Standardize member communication and service protocols
  • Resolve complex member issues professionally and efficiently
  • Oversee communication strategies and dissemination of information
  • Approve newsletters, press releases, and key organizational content
  • Submit timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior leadership
  • Serve as the liaison between the head office and regional teams
  • Provide strategic direction for TWCC events and manage execution
  • Coordinate sponsorship and funding for outreach activities
  • Lead post-event evaluation and planning
  • Develop segmented services for various member categories
  • Identify capacity building, financing, market access, and advocacy opportunities
  • Continuously evaluate and innovate to enhance the member experience

Key Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Development Studies, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role related to membership development, community outreach, or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working with membership-based organizations and regional coordination
  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and use of membership management systems
  • Proficiency in strategic planning and project management
