Amani Centre for Street Children is inviting applications from experienced Human Resource professionals to join our team as a Human Resource Associate. This is a full-time role focused on managing all aspects of HR and performance management while fostering staff wellbeing and positive employee relations to support the Centre’s strategic goals.
Job Summary
The Human Resource Associate will act as a vital link between staff and management, offering support to address employee concerns and implementing skills and development plans to improve staff satisfaction and retention. The role requires knowledge of labour laws, HR compliance, efficient HR systems management, internal communications, and report writing. The ideal candidate should be approachable, trustworthy, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. A passion for advancing the welfare of street children and alignment with the Centre’s values is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of human resource management including recruitment, employee lifecycle, maintaining employment records, and staff wellbeing from hiring to offboarding.
- Lead the HR and Admin team to drive staff development initiatives and address employee concerns to boost satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with executive management in strategic planning to strengthen the Centre’s institutional framework and organizational resilience.
- Oversee the HR department budget and resources, monitor expenditures, and contribute to funders’ reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws, fair employment practices, and internal policies; identify and mitigate legal, health, safety, and reputational risks.
- Promote positive employee engagement through open communication and transparency aligned with organizational culture and values.
- Support networking and partnership efforts to strengthen relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Office Administration, or related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of labour laws and best HR practices in Tanzania.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
- Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and networking skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and reliability.
- Proficient in MS Office and other office computer systems.
- Commitment to high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
