As an Associate Construction Management Engineer at UNOPS, you will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications, and supporting operational and logistical aspects of project management.

Key Responsibilities

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Manage contractors and link technical supervision with contract management to ensure transparent payment processes.
  • Monitor project work to ensure it complies with design standards and quality requirements.
  • Track daily project activities, report deviations, and ensure works are completed according to the project plan.

Construction Site Management:

  • Oversee construction site activities to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure materials meet design standards and compliance with HSSE regulations.
  • Report daily progress and support coordination of site meetings and project forecasts.

Operational and Logistic Support:

  • Assist in administrative tasks related to payments, procurement, and asset management.
  • Support the development and maintenance of management information systems.
  • Monitor Human Resources needs and assist with recruitment and training.

Knowledge Management and Innovation:

  • Compile and share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project files and activity reports.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of secondary education is required; a university degree in civil engineering or construction management is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in civil engineering and construction.
  • Prior experience with UN system organizations or INGOs is desirable.

Language:

  • Excellent written and oral English is required.
  • Knowledge of Kiswahili is a plus.
